How not to get your Discord server delisted: the rules every directory enforces
Most delistings are not about bad servers. They are about avoidable mistakes in how the listing was set up. Here are the ones we see most.
We remove very few listings for being bad communities. We remove more for avoidable setup mistakes. Here is the list, in the order we see them.
1. The invite dies
Seven-day invites are the number one cause. On Discordfinder a broken invite hides the listing and DMs the owner; on some directories it silently ranks you down. Make it permanent or let our bot create one for you.
2. Unflagged 18+ content
If any channel is age-restricted or the server is about adult topics, tick the 18+ flag. Flagged servers are still listed (under the NSFW tag and for users who opt in); unflagged ones get removed on the first report.
3. Misleading tags
"Gaming, Anime, Crypto, Dating, Music" on a Minecraft SMP is tag stuffing. You get five tags; use the ones a member would actually search. Moderators correct tags, repeat offenders lose the listing.
4. Vote or boost manipulation
Alt accounts, paid votes, boost exchanges, "vote for us and get a role" schemes. On Discordfinder boosts require a Discord account older than seven days, one boost per person per day across the whole site, and one per IP — and everything is audit-logged. When we see patterns, we void the boosts and warn once.
5. Copy-pasted descriptions
The same 240 characters on five listings is the classic spam fingerprint. Describe each server specifically; it also converts better.
6. Kicking the bot
Our bot is how we know a server is alive. Removing it pauses the listing until it is re-added — no penalty, but also no visibility.
7. Scams and impersonation
Fake "official" servers, nitro giveaways, crypto pumps. Instant removal and the account is banned. If you run the real official server for a brand, claim it through your Discord login and it will carry the badge from Discord's own features.
What a good listing looks like
Permanent invite, five honest tags, a specific description, the correct language, the 18+ flag set truthfully, and the bot left alone. That is the whole checklist. Full guidelines.
