How to find Discord servers in 2026: 9 ways that still work (and 3 that waste your time)

Discord has no search box for servers. That single design decision is why there are directories, subreddits, invite-trading channels and this guide. Here are the methods that reliably lead to a living community, in the order I would try them.

1. Discord's built-in Server Discovery

Open Discord, press the compass icon and search. You only see Community servers that met Discord's eligibility criteria, so everything there is large and moderated. If you want a big official community for a game, start here.

Limit: small and mid-sized servers are invisible, and the search understands names better than topics.

2. A directory that checks invites

Directory pages are indexable, so this is what you find on Google. The difference between directories is the ranking signal.
